Farmers should get loans at zero percent interest rate, fertilizers should be available in sufficient quantity

Cooperation, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang on Monday conducted a detailed review of the activities of Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Bank at Apex Bank. During this, he discussed in detail many topics including appointments, financial position of District Cooperative Central Banks, short term crop loan distribution in Kharif 2025-26, short term crop loan scheme at zero percent interest rate and gave necessary guidelines to the officials.
Minister Sarang said that the state government is constantly trying to give a strong economic base to the farmers. He instructed the officials to ensure timely distribution of short term crop loan for Kharif 2025-26 and to provide loan facility to the farmers at zero percent interest rate in a timely manner. He laid special emphasis on ensuring adequate availability of fertilizers in PACS committees and speeding up the process of PACS computerization. Measures to make Kisan Credit Card operations more simple and accessible were also discussed in the meeting. Minister Sarang said that the real benefit of farmer-friendly policies is possible only when the district cooperative banks work in a strong position. Therefore, a concrete action plan should be made to improve the financial condition of weak district banks and it should be implemented soon. Principal Secretary Cooperation DP Ahuja, NABARD's CGM C. Saraswati, Commissioner Cooperation Manoj Pushp, Managing Director (Apex Bank) Noj Gupta and departmental officers were present in the meeting.
