Sardarpur defeated Mini Brazil Vicharpur 1-0 in a thrilling match

Many thrilling matches including women's football took place on the second day at TT Nagar Stadium

On the second day of the three-day National Sports Festival, which started in the capital last Friday on the 120th birth anniversary of the great magician of hockey Major Dhyanchand, a thrilling match was held between the women's football teams of Vicharpur village of Shahdol district, famous as 'Mini Brazil', and Sardarpur village of Dhar district at TT Nagar Stadium on Saturday.

Cooperative, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang started the match by kicking. Sardarpur's team dominated from the beginning of the match. In the first half itself, Sardarpur's captain and international football player Jyoti Chauhan scored a brilliant goal to give the team the lead. After this, Vicharpur's team played with full vigor, but could not succeed in scoring an equalizing goal. At the end of the stipulated time, the score was 1-0 and Sardarpur won this memorable match. For their excellent performance in the match, Vicharpur's goalkeeper Uma Kewat and Sardarpur's captain Jyoti Chauhan were honoured with an honorarium of Rs 21,000. Minister Sarang praised the players of both the teams and said that this match will prove to be a milestone in promoting football in the state.

Minister Sarang said that PM Narendra Modi has inspired the whole country by mentioning Vicharpur village as 'Mini Brazil' in his Mann Ki Baat. It is both a matter of pride and responsibility for us to make his dreams come true by encouraging sports at the grassroots level. Sarang said that the atmosphere of football in both Vicharpur and Sardarpur villages is very positive and a special attachment towards sports is seen in every house here. He assured that the Sports and Youth Welfare Department will take inspiration from these villages and take concrete steps towards further expansion and strengthening of football in the state. On this occasion, former cricketer and motivational speaker Madanlal Sharma, high-performance sports psychologist Dr. Sanjana Kiran, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Department Rakesh Gupta, Deputy Director BS Yadav, former Commissioner Rajiv Sharma and other departmental officers were also present.
